The movie career of Kate Winslet took off with recognition and praise when Kate starred in a combined leading role in 1994, as Juliet Hulme in (Heavenly Creatures) directed by Peter Jackson, and she played an imaginative and vivacious teen who helps her best friend (Melanie Lynskey) murdering her mother, when that they are not appropriated to be together.

When Kate Winslet talks about almost drowning at the age of 20 in Titanic, Kate is walking over a bridge, in reference to the water seen and iceberg and in the movie.
Also Kate Winslet appeared in 2005 in the series (Extras) in one episode, playing herself. Kate Winslet remarkably told Maggie and Andy, the 2 characters which star in the series, that she was making a movie about the Holocaust and that’s because she was bored of losing out on Oscars, as now Kate had been nominated 4 times, and that everybody who does a movie about the Holocaust gains an Oscar. Also, Kate Winslet was (while dressed as a nun) appeared giving phone sex tips to the lovingly challenged Maggie. Ricky Gervais (the one who is aboriginal of the same town as Kate Winslet, Reading, and Sam Mendes, her husband) said later on NPR that Kate was the favorite guest star of him. The performance of Kate Winslet in the episode give her a nomination for Outstanding Guest Performance for an Emmy Award in a Comedy Series, but Kate did not win the award.
Leonardo DiCpario on March, 2007 co-starred in (Revolution Road) with Kate Winslet as April and Frank Wheeler. The movie will be first one which assembles them since their first time appearing in (Titanic).

Also, there is a rumor says that “Sam Mendes” (Kate’s husband) and Neal Street Productions (the production company of him) purchased the movie rights to the long-delayed biography of circus tiger tamer Mable Stark. Kate Winslet has affirmed that she has been waiting to play this role of this complex female for 3 years now and also is looking forward to working with “Sam” to bring this to the screen.

Kate Winslet also has enjoyed as a singer a brief taste of success, with her song (What If) the one from the soundtrack of Christmas Carol: The Movie, which achieved number 6 in UK and number 1 in the Ireland (Kate also made a music video for the single). Kate Winslet has participated in a duet on the Sandra Boynton CD Dog Train with “Weird Al” Yankovic, and in the 2006 movie Romance and Cigarettes she sang. Kate Winslet sang from La Boheme an aria, named “Sono andati”, in her movie (Heavenly Creatures), the one which is featured on the movie’s soundtrack. Kate Winslet was considered as a lead in (Moulin Rouge) (finally went to Nicole Kidman); had Kate participated, Kate would have sung the whole soundtrack.
